Are you an experienced Technical Officer or Clerk of Works seeking a long-term interim role where you can make a meaningful impact in social housing?
A Nottinghamshire-based council is launching a major capital investment programme to upgrade and future-proof its housing stock, and is seeking a skilled professional to help deliver it.
Your new role
As a Technical Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of planned maintenance projects across the council’s housing portfolio. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing contractors delivering upgrades such as kitchens, bathrooms, roofing, windows, and more.
- Ensuring quality, compliance, and safety standards are consistently met.
- Acting as the technical liaison between the council, residents, and contractors.
- Supporting project delivery from pre-start to handover, including inspections and reporting.

- Background in building surveying, construction, or property maintenance
- Experience in social housing or public sector projects
- Strong understanding of building regulations and quality standards
- Excellent communication and contractor management skills
