You’ll own a platform that’s been trusted for over 15 years, ensuring stability while driving modernisation. This is your chance to set the technical direction, influence architecture, and make decisions that matter.

• Take full technical ownership of the platform and infrastructure (AWS, Java, MySQL)
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with calm precision.
• Lead refactoring and migration projects (think Quarkus, containerisation)
• Mentor developers and champion best practices in coding, testing, and deployment
• Balance reliability with innovation to future-proof the system

What you'll need to succeed

To be a perfect fit for this role, you will have experience in:

• Building and maintaining Java applications (8–17)

• Skilled in SQL performance tuning and database design

• Hands-on AWS experience (EC2, RDS, S3, networking)

• Calm under pressure, methodical in debugging

• Passionate about setting technical strategy and mentoring others

And will have experience with the following tech stack :

• Backend: Java (JBoss 6.1), REST architecture
• Database: MySQL
• Infrastructure: AWS (EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, S3)
• Future Direction: Quarkus, containerised deployments, CI/CD
