This role is designed for engineers stepping into architecture. It is not suitable for senior architects or purely junior support profiles.

For this role, you must demonstrate:

• Experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or platform engineering
• Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or hybrid)
• Experience contributing to technical design, solution input, or infrastructure change initiatives
• Understanding of core infrastructure domains (networking, compute, storage, virtualisation)
• Ability to produce technical documentation and design artefacts This role is not suitable for candidates without hands-on infrastructure experience or those already operating as senior architects.

This role supports the design, documentation, and continuous improvement of the organisation’s infrastructure architecture across cloud and enterprise environments. You will work closely with senior architects, contributing to solution design, standards, and technology roadmaps, while developing your own architectural capability.

What You’ll Own

Architecture Support: Support the design and documentation of infrastructure architectures and technical solutions.

Design & Documentation: Produce low-level designs, architecture artefacts, and technical documentation aligned to standards.

Technology Evaluation: Contribute to PoCs, architectural assessments, and technology evaluations.

Project & Change Support: Provide architectural input into projects, migrations, and transformation initiatives.

Standards & Governance: Ensure solutions align with architectural principles, security requirements, and operational standards.

Operational Alignment: Work with operations teams to ensure designs are supportable, resilient, and scalable.

Continuous Development: Build architectural capability and stay current with emerging infrastructure and cloud technologies.

What We’re Looking For

• Background in infrastructure / systems / platform engineering
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar)
• Understanding of infrastructure architecture concepts
• Experience contributing to technical designs or solution discussions
• Strong analytical and documentation skills
• Ambition to develop into a fully-fledged architect
