We are currently recruiting for a Team Manager to join a progressive and child-focused local authority committed to delivering high-quality services for children and young people with disabilities. The Children with Disabilities team works closely with families, carers, and professionals to ensure that children receive the support they need to thrive.

Your new role

As a Team Manager, you will lead a dedicated team of social workers and practitioners who support children with complex needs and their families. You will be responsible for overseeing casework, ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities, and driving service improvement.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing strong leadership, supervision, and support to the team
  • Managing performance and ensuring high standards of practice
  • Overseeing complex cases and safeguarding concerns
  • Working collaboratively with health, education, and voluntary sector partners
  • Contributing to strategic planning and service development
  • Promoting a culture of learning, reflection, and continuous improvement

What you'll need to succeed

  • A Social Work Degree or equivalent qualification and registration with Social Work England
  • Significant experience in children’s social care, ideally within disability services
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, safeguarding, and disability frameworks
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making abilities
  • A commitment to inclusive practice and improving outcomes for children
