We are currently recruiting for a Team Manager to join a dynamic and forward-thinking local authority committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families. The Assessment Team plays a crucial role in responding to referrals, undertaking assessments, and ensuring timely and effective interventions.
Your new role
- Leading and managing a team of social workers and practitioners
- Overseeing the allocation and progression of referrals and assessments
- Ensuring timely and robust decision-making in safeguarding and child protection cases
- Supporting staff through supervision, coaching, and reflective practice
- Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to deliver effective interventions
- Contributing to service development and continuous improvement
What you'll need to succeed
- A recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Work England
- Extensive experience in children’s social care, particularly in assessment and safeguarding
- Proven leadership and management skills
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, thresholds, and statutory guidance
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills
- A commitment to high standards of practice and improving outcomes for children
