Hays Education is experiencing increased demand for experienced and motivated Teaching Assistants across Telford. Primary schools are seeking adaptable and supportive practitioners who can work effectively in classrooms from Year 1 to Year 6. Opportunities are available for both short term and long term placements.
Your new role
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across KS1 and KS2, helping to deliver high quality learning and providing tailored support where needed. Your responsibilities may include small group interventions, general classroom support, 1:1 assistance, or contributing to whole class activities depending on the needs of each school.

- Long term opportunities, lasting from 2 weeks up to the remainder of the academic year
We work closely with you to ensure placements match your strengths, preferences and availability.
What you'll need to succeed
- Ideally a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, as many roles require this under school guidelines
- However, we would still love to hear from candidates with strong, recent and referenceable experience supporting children in a UK primary setting (Year 1–Year 6)
- Ability to provide recent, relevant references
- A patient, proactive and supportive approach to helping pupils learn
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
