Teaching Assistant – Wallasey – Start After Half Term

Support young learners at the very start of their school journey – and help shape their future!

Your new company
Hays Education is working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Wallasey, known for its nurturing approach and commitment to early years education. As they prepare for the second half of the autumn term, they’re looking for a passionate F1 Teaching Assistant to join their team and support children in their first year of school.

Your new role
This exciting opportunity is perfect for someone who thrives in a play-based, child-led environment and has experience supporting children with additional needs. You’ll work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support, helping children settle into school life and reach key developmental milestones.

What you’ll be doing:
Supporting children’s learning and development in Foundation Stage 1
Providing one-to-one and small group SEN support
Assisting with routines, transitions, and classroom activities
Encouraging positive behaviour and social skills
Creating a warm, inclusive, and engaging learning space

What you’ll need to succeed:
Experience working in EYFS, ideally in a school setting
Some experience supporting children with SEN (e.g. autism, speech & language, sensory needs)
A relevant qualification (Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistant)
A caring, enthusiastic, and proactive attitude
A genuine passion for helping young children thrive

What you’ll get in return:
Competitive pay rates
Long-term opportunity starting after half term
Support from your dedicated Hays consultant
A chance to be part of a welcoming and supportive school community
Opportunities for ongoing professional development

Whether you’re an experienced EYFS TA or looking to build on your SEN experience, this role offers a rewarding next step in your career.
