Your new company
Hays Recruitment is proud to be supporting a highly regarded Winsford-based SEN secondary school as they are looking for an experienced and reliable teaching assistant for a long-term full-time temporary contract, starting in the new year. This is an extremely supportive and inclusive secondary school that supports pupils with a diverse range of SEN (special educational needs) including ASD, LD, PMLD, downs syndrome, etc, all of which have individual ECHPs. Although all pupils do have diagnosed SEN, they are all extremely academic and work in line with the curriculum. As such, good knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 national curriculums is imperative.
As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be joining a supportive and welcoming team of like-minded professionals. You will offer comprehensive 1:1 support across both key stages on a timetabled basis, tailoring your approach to best suit the pupil's needs, ensuring that their individual attention and ECHP requirements are met. Your core duties will include:
- 1:1 and small group interventions in core subjects (including planning)
- Intense interventions with lower/mixed ability pupils to bring them up to speak
- Positive behaviour support
- Supporting during break and lunchtime
- GCSE preparation with UKS4
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, referenceable classroom experience, and:

- Experience supporting moderate/high functioning SEND
- Be able to commit to a full-time contract 32.5 hours per week
- An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential
What you'll get in return
If you are successful in your application, you will receive the full support, dedication and guidance of a senior DfE accredited recruitment consultant, as well as a wide range of benefits that include:
- Free training
- Upfront cost of DBS covered
- Long-term contract
- Competitive rate of pay
- Full holiday entitlement (28 days)
- Company pension scheme
- Onsite parking
- Access to exclusive vacancies
