Teaching Assistant
Location: Schools across St Helens

Contract: Temporary (with potential for ongoing work)
Hours: Full-time and part-time roles available – availability to work over the next couple of months and ready to start in January.
Pay: Competitive rates depending on experience

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping pupils reach their full potential. You’ll be supporting teachers in the classroom, working one-to-one or with small groups, and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Some of your key responsibilities:

  • Behaviour and Emotional Support
  • Supervise pupils during break times, lunch, and school trips.
  • Ensure pupil safety and well-being at all times.
  • Support pupils with additional needs
  • Liaise with teachers, parents, and other staff as needed.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and help manage classroom behaviour.
  • Set up learning materials and resources before lessons.
  • Assist in delivering lessons under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Work with small groups or individual pupils to reinforce learning.
  • Help pupils stay focused and engaged during activities.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience working with children in any setting (e.g., schools, nurseries, youth groups, care)
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential.
  • A proactive, caring, and flexible approach.
  • Availability to work over the next couple of months and ready to start in January.
