SEMH Teaching Assistant – Ongoing Position
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for your next rewarding role? Hays Education is working with a welcoming secondary school in the Skelmersdale area that is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on an ongoing basis.
Your new role
You will work closely with teachers to support students both in and out of the classroom, helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing targeted support to students with additional learning needs
- Assisting with classroom management and lesson preparation
- Delivering small‑group and 1:1 interventions
- Supporting pupils to stay focused, motivated, and on track
- Collaborating with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure the best outcomes for students
What you’ll need to succeed
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant (school‑based preferred)
- A patient, supportive, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
