SEN, KS2 Teaching Assistant in the Wirral, February Start

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with additional learning needs in a welcoming and supportive school setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the pupil access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential. The class is a KS2 class and the Teaching Assistant should be able to use their own initiative to help and instruct the child. The correct person should already have suitable experience and should be able to be comfortable in a classroom environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide consistent 1:1 support tailored to the child’s individual needs
  • Assist with academic work, emotional regulation, and daily classroom routines
  • Work closely with the teacher and SENCO to follow tailored support plans.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and engagement
  • Support communication, sensory, or social interaction needs as required
  • Build a trusting, positive relationship with the pupil and their family
About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, SLCN, or other needs)
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • The desire to make a meaningful difference in a child’s educational journey
  • A current DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
What We Offer
  • A long‑term placement in a supportive, friendly school
  • Competitive weekly pay
  • Ongoing CPD and training opportunities
  • A dedicated consultant to support you
