We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and experienced candidate to the post of Teaching Assistant.

Teaching Assistant (SEN)

Part time 33¼ hours per week, term time only
1-year Fixed Term Contract

NJC SCP 5-11 £25,583 pa to £28,142 pa
(Actual gross salary pro rata part time, term time only - £19,774 to £21,752 per annum)

The Governing Body are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and experienced candidate to the post of Teaching Assistant. This post would be suitable for a post-graduate who may be considering a career in teaching.

The successful appointee should possess:

  • GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics, or equivalent (essential)
  • Experience of supporting the learning of children with autism (essential)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – written and oral (essential)
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently (essential)
  • Knowledge of the graduated approach and strategies to support children with a specific need (desirable)
  • Experience of working with secondary-aged students (desirable).
