Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a secondary school in Preston. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
  • Assist teachers in preparing learning materials and classroom resources.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with additional needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and help manage classroom dynamics.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Support students during break and lunch times as required.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos and values of the school.
Person Specification
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting young people.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable:
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate).
  • Experience supporting students with SEND.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
