We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive school in Newton Le Willows to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development. The role is available for an immediate start and requires full-time availability from Monday to Friday.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be a vital part of the classroom team, supporting pupils and teachers to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be a vital part of the classroom team, supporting pupils and teachers to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Learning Activities: Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons, helping pupils stay focused and on task, and adapting activities to meet individual needs.
- One-to-One and Small Group Support: Working closely with pupils who may need additional help, including those with special educational needs (SEN), to support their academic and personal development.
- Classroom Preparation: Setting up learning materials, preparing resources, and helping maintain a stimulating and organised learning environment.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Observing pupil progress, identifying areas of concern, and reporting back to teaching staff to inform planning and interventions.
- Behaviour Management: Promoting positive behaviour, helping pupils understand expectations, and supporting the teacher in managing classroom dynamics.
- Pastoral Support: Providing emotional and social support to pupils, helping them feel safe, valued, and confident in school.
- Supervision Duties: Assisting with break and lunchtime supervision, ensuring pupil safety and wellbeing during non-classroom times.
- Administrative Support: Carrying out basic administrative tasks such as photocopying, filing, and updating pupil records.
- Safeguarding: Following school safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and welfare of all pupils.
What you'll need to succeed
- Full availability Monday to Friday
- Experience working with children in any setting (e.g., schools, nurseries, youth groups, sports coaching, etc.)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A caring, patient, and proactive approach
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, Childcare, or Education-related qualifications)
- Understanding of SEN desirable
- Full right to work in the UK
- A DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
