About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team, supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners by providing tailored support in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with SEN in EYFS settings.
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities.
Support children with a range of needs including autism, speech and language difficulties, and developmental delays.
Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting observations to the class teacher and SENCO.
Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
Support with personal care routines where necessary.
Collaborate with parents, carers, and external professionals to support individual learning plans.
Requirements:
Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
Experience working in EYFS, ideally with children who have SEN.
A nurturing and patient approach to supporting young children.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
A commitment to promoting inclusion and equal opportunities.
Desirable:
Experience with EHCPs and implementing individual support plans.
Knowledge of Makaton, PECs, or other communication strategies.
First Aid and/or Manual Handling training.
