Temporary SEN Teaching Assistant – KS1

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team within a primary school setting. This full-time, temporary role involves working as part of a structured TA team supporting two children in Year 1 with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The successful candidate will work on a rotation basis alongside two other TAs, ensuring consistent and high-quality support across the day.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for children with autism and communication needs.
• Implement visual supports, SALT strategies, and sensory activities.
• Support emotional regulation and social interaction through structured routines.
• Collaborate with teachers and other TAs to maintain a safe, calm, and engaging learning environment.
• Follow individual support plans and contribute to progress tracking and feedback.

Requirements:
• Experience supporting primary-aged pupils with autism and communication needs.
• Familiarity with SALT programmes, visual timetables, and emotional regulation strategies.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow structured routines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A caring, patient, and adaptable approach.
