SEMH Teaching Assistant - Lancaster

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Hays Education is working in partnership with a specialist school in Lancaster to recruit a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant for a long-term temporary role.

Your new role

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH needs
  • Assist with classroom activities and behaviour management
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
  • Promote emotional wellbeing and resilience
  • Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or additional needs
  • A calm, patient and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
