Are you a caring and enthusiastic individual with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Sefton is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide SEN support across the school, starting after the October half-term.
Role Overview:
You will work closely with pupils who require additional support due to a range of needs including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health challenges. The role involves both 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils access learning and thrive in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with SEN across different year groups
- Assist in the delivery of tailored learning activities and interventions
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs)
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Help create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children with SEN in a school setting
- A patient, empathetic and flexible approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEND training) desirable
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
