Teacher of Social Sciences – Secondary School (Morpeth)
Location: Morpeth, Northumberland
Contract: Temporary (Until Christmas 2025)⏰
Hours: Full-time
Agency: Hays Education

Are you passionate about inspiring young minds in subjects like Psychology, Sociology, and Health & Social Care? Hays Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in Morpeth to recruit a Teacher of Social Sciences for a full-time role starting as soon as possible and continuing until the end of the autumn term (Christmas 2025).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons in Social Sciences at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5
  • Plan, prepare, and assess student work in line with curriculum standards.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Support students in developing critical thinking, analytical, and research skills
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Social Sciences curriculum

✅ Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Specialism in Social Sciences (e.g., Psychology, Sociology, Health & Social Care)
  • Experience teaching in UK secondary schools or sixth forms
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply through Hays)
