Hays Education are working in partnership with a successful and ambitious secondary school in East London to recruit a dedicated Science Teacher for a September 2026 start.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established Science department with a strong track record of academic achievement and student progress. The school is committed to delivering an engaging, practical and knowledge-rich curriculum that develops students' curiosity and understanding of the world around them.

The successful candidate will teach Science across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to teach their specialism at KS5 for suitably qualified and experienced applicants.

Your new role

  • Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that inspire a love of science
  • Plan, prepare and assess work in line with departmental policies
  • Support students of all abilities to achieve their full potential
  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
  • Contribute to the wider life of the department and school community


What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Science within a UK secondary school setting
  • Specialism in Biology, Chemistry or Physics welcomed
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for science education
  • Ability to motivate and engage students across a range of abilities
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
