English Teacher job in Nottingham to start ASAP

  • Start date: 3rd November 2025
  • End date: July 2026
  • Full-time and long-term role

We are working in partnership with an 11-19 secondary school in Nottingham who are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of English to provide long-term cover from October Half Term until the end of the academic year. Due to this being a long-term job, full teaching responsibilities will be required, including planning and marking.

Job Description

  • Delivering engaging and creative English lessons.
  • Planning and preparing schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback.
  • Contributing to the development of the department’s curriculum.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. ECT's welcome to apply.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
  • Experience of teaching English across years 7–11
  • At least 2 years’ experience of teaching in a UK school
  • Strong behaviour/classroom management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members
