Teacher of English - Secondary School Job - Enfield - September 2026

Your new company

Hays Education are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in North London to recruit a passionate Teacher of English. The school has a strong focus on academic achievement, literacy development, and creating an inclusive learning environment where students can thrive.

Your new role

You will be teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach A-Level English depending on experience. You will deliver engaging and structured lessons that inspire a love of reading and writing, while supporting students in achieving strong academic outcomes.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level (KS3–KS4 essential)
  • Strong subject knowledge across literature and language
  • Ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities
  • Commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour
