Your responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching DT across KS3 and KS4, with potential for KS5 depending on experience.
  • Planning and delivering creative, practical lessons that promote problem-solving and innovation.
  • Supporting students in developing technical skills and understanding design principles.
  • Contributing to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives.
  • Encouraging participation in extracurricular activities such as STEM clubs or design competitions.

Who this role is perfect for:

  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to begin their career in a supportive and well-resourced department.
  • Experienced DT teachers seeking a new challenge or flexible working arrangements.
  • Retired teachers interested in part-time or supply teaching to continue sharing their expertise.
  • Educators passionate about design, engineering, and student development.
  • Teachers who can build strong relationships and manage behaviour effectively.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching Design & Technology in a secondary school setting (including during training).
  • Strong subject knowledge and practical teaching skills.
  • A positive, reflective, and collaborative approach to teaching.

Please note: This position does not offer sponsorship, so candidates must have the right to work in the UK.

What you'll get in return

  • A rewarding role starting in September.
  • Competitive salary based on experience (MPS/UPS).
  • Flexible working options including part-time and supply.
  • Access to high-quality CPD and career development.
  • Full holiday entitlement and pension scheme.
  • A supportive and inclusive school culture.
