Job title: Tax Associate

Your new company

This is a well-established and highly respected brand in the UK, with a strong presence in the FMCG sector for over 30 years. Known for its commitment to quality and innovation, the business continues to grow by investing in an ever-expanding range of products. It is currently one of the most chosen FMCG brands in the UK, selected from supermarket shelves millions of times each year. The organisation prides itself on supporting employees to develop their knowledge and skills, creating an environment where you can thrive and progress.

Your new role

We are recruiting for a Tax Associate to join the Direct Tax team. In this role, you will support the team in managing UK direct tax compliance matters and take responsibility for preparing direct tax documentation for senior review. Key responsibilities include preparing annual current and deferred tax provisions and disclosures for UK and group financial reporting, preparing annual corporation tax computations, assisting with cross-border transaction compliance reports, and managing UK direct tax compliance for foreign landlords within the wider group. You will also monitor legislative changes affecting direct taxes and keep the team informed of developments.

What you'll need to succeed

You will hold a college degree in a relevant subject and have 1–2 years’ experience in a finance or tax environment. A fundamental understanding of the corporation tax return process and UK corporation tax legislation is essential, along with excellent Excel skills. Ideally, you will have ATT or AAT qualifications (or be qualified by experience), and familiarity with SAP would be advantageous. You should be proactive, accurate, and able to prioritise tasks under tight deadlines. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are key.

What you'll get in return

In return for your commitment, drive, and enthusiasm, you will receive a competitive salary, bonus scheme, healthcare package, contributory pension plan, life assurance, employee assistance programme, and generous annual leave that increases with service. You’ll also benefit from a flexible benefits programme and access to a Rewards Benefits Programme, giving you discounts across hundreds of retailers online and in-store. Full on-the-job training will be provided, with the possibility of taking professional examinations.

What you need to do now

If you have the skills and experience outlined above and would like to be considered for this role, please apply via the careers website.
