We are currently working with a growing number of specialist and mainstream schools across the Taunton area who are seeking skilled and understanding SEND Teaching Assistants for both immediate day‑to‑day cover and longer‑term placements.

The Role
As an SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with diverse needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH)
- Communication and interaction needs
- Moderate to profound learning difficulties
- Behavioural and sensory needs
Your day may involve 1:1 support, small group work, de‑escalation strategies, communication support or working closely with specialist staff.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking individuals who have:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND
- A calm, patient and adaptable approach
- A strong understanding of individual needs and tailored strategies
- Confidence working in challenging or varied environments
- A genuine desire to help pupils thrive academically, socially and emotionally
