Your new company

We are seeking a compassionate, resilient and highly motivated Support Worker to join our Criminal Justice Service. This role provides a vital lifeline to individuals leaving prison who are at risk of homelessness or navigating complex challenges such as trauma, mental ill‑health, substance use, domestic abuse, or ongoing involvement with the justice system.

You’ll play an essential role in helping clients maintain accommodation, increase stability, and take positive steps towards independent living. Working closely with partner agencies — including probation services, police and specialist support providers — you’ll deliver truly person‑centred support that changes lives.
If you want a role with real purpose and daily impact, we’d love to hear from you.

Your new role

  • Build positive, professional relationships with external partners, especially within the criminal justice system
  • Manage referrals and complete thorough needs and risk assessments
  • Create and deliver tailored support plans that reflect individual client goals
  • Provide advice and practical guidance around benefits, budgeting and accessing services
  • Support clients to understand their rights, responsibilities and licence/accommodation agreements
  • Promote safe, stable tenancies and coach clients in essential life skills
  • Ensure accommodation meets health & safety requirements
  • Maintain clear, accurate and timely records, contributing to reporting for partners and funders
  • Participate in the on‑call rota to provide out‑of‑hours assistance when needed

What you'll need to succeed

  • Valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (business insurance required)
  • Experience supporting vulnerable adults and/or individuals with complex needs or challenging behaviour
  • Strong communication and partnership‑working skills
  • Ability to remain calm, empathetic and solution‑focused in pressured situations
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusive practice

What you'll get in return

  • 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays, including an extra day off for your birthday
(rising to 30 days after 4 years’ continuous service)
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme and Health Cash Plan
  • Competitive and supportive pension scheme
  • A positive and reflective workplace culture with regular supervisions
  • Free monthly training sessions delivered by experienced facilitators
  • Eligibility for the Blue Light Card, offering discounts across thousands of brands
  • Access to external Reflective Practice sessions
  • A strongly inclusive environment, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds including those with lived experience
