Hays Social Care are looking for a support worker in Coleraine.
Your new company
Hays Social Care are working with one of Northern Ireland’s leading homeless charities who help put the most vulnerable people in our society back on their feet.
Your new role
You will be working as part of a team that support homeless adults from living in temporary accommodation. The project is aimed at settling those affected by homelessness by providing a fixed address. You will be an integral part of the team promoting the health and wellbeing of the residents that have addictions and mental health needs. As part of the role, you will be asked to look after the house with regular cleaning duties and check in on residents regularly. After your shift you will have a face-to-face handover to relay any important information for the person starting on the next shift. You will ideally be trained on Naloxone for higher risk residents. You will be supported by a core team member who will have information on all residents and how best to support them.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this position, you will need to have personal or work experience of providing support for someone, good organisational and record keeping skills, be an excellent communicator with resilience to adapt. Have empathy and understanding others and their needs.
