Support Worker (Supported Living)
Your New Company
We are a dedicated organisation committed to providing exceptional residential care in the Swansea area. Our mission is to support adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, ensuring their rights, interests, and dignity are always upheld.
Your New Role
As a Support Worker, you will have two main areas of responsibility. First, you will support individuals in accordance with our values and commitment. This includes encouraging them to make their own choices, helping them fulfil those choices, and enabling them to meet their responsibilities. You will also involve them in company-related activities such as training, recruitment, and house meetings.
Secondly, you will carry out activities required by the organisation. This includes participating in the recruitment, induction, and training of new staff, ensuring effective teamwork, maintaining a healthy working environment, and completing necessary paperwork. You will also contribute to quality and value for money by developing ideas for improvements, enhancing your skills and those of others, managing the service budget, and promoting the organisation’s reputation.
What You Will Need to Succeed
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- Skills: Ability to carry out household tasks, teach home-making skills, and support individuals with dignity and respect.
- Communication: Good communication skills, both written and verbal, adaptable to different situations.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a team and maintain consistent standards.
- Driving Licence: Essential for this role.
- Additional Skills: Creativity, organisation, ability to manage and record finances, and basic computer skills.
What You Will Get in Return
- Weekly Pay: No hidden costs or additional charges.
- Supportive Environment: 24/7 office support with our on-call system.
- Career Growth: Opportunities for progression, referral bonuses, free training, and a free DBS check.
- Holidays: 25 days holiday plus public holidays.
