- Delivering Lessons: Teach the planned curriculum or adapt existing lesson plans to ensure learning continues smoothly.

- Safeguarding: Ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils in line with school policies.
- Assessment & Feedback: Mark work and provide feedback where required.
- Professionalism: Represent the school positively and uphold its values.
What you'll need to succeed
We're looking for primary teachers who have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Classroom experience – a minimum of 2 student placements (or 40 days of teaching within the last 2 years) within the primary/early years classroom
- Curriculum knowledge – Early Years, Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2 curriculum delivery
- Flexibility and resilience – every day can be different.
- Strong and effective communication – with pupils, staff, and sometimes parents.
- Classroom management expertise – to handle unfamiliar groups confidently.
- Quick thinking and creativity – for adapting lessons or engaging pupils without much preparation time.
What you'll get in return
Working for HAYS Education comes with a wide range of benefits, designed to support flexibility, wellbeing, and career growth, including:
- Flexibility & work-life balance – choose when and where you work, giving you control over your schedule.
- Competitive pay – attractive daily rates of pay, based on the type of work you're carrying out (daily supply/long-term teaching excluding/including planning).

- Strong Support Network – supported by a consultant with over 17 years experience of working with Primary Schools and Primary Teachers. Hays offers access to free training and career development resources.
