Supply Chain Manager | £Negotiable (DOE) | Glossop | Permanent postion

Your new company
You will be joining a fast‑growing, wholesale business operating in a dynamic retail environment with global supply chains and a broad product range. The business combines the pace and complexity of an international supply chain with strong family values, a collaborative culture, and a genuine commitment to developing its people. Many employees have progressed their careers internally, and the organisation actively invests in individuals who want to build long term careers and take on increased responsibility as the business grows.

This is an environment where inventory decisions matter. Customer demand can shift quickly, supply chains are complex, and disciplined stock management plays a critical role in business performance.

Your new role
As Supply Chain Manager, you will take full ownership of stock control and replenishment, ensuring the business consistently has the right stock, in the right place, at the right time. You will balance service levels, working capital, warehouse capacity, and supplier performance across a global factory base.

This is a high impact leadership role with real accountability. You will lead and develop the Stock Control team, translate inventory strategy into clear operational rules, and create a disciplined planning rhythm that enables proactive rather than reactive decision making.

Key elements of the role include owning SKU availability, managing stock investment and aged inventory, setting replenishment policies, and providing clear analysis and insight to senior stakeholders. You will work closely with Product, Sales, Finance, Warehouse, and Sourcing teams to ensure inventory decisions support wider business priorities. You will also manage relationships with forwarding and shipping agents and negotiate annual freight contracts.

The pace is high and priorities can evolve quickly, so this role will suit someone who enjoys solving complex operational problems, taking ownership, and seeing issues through to resolution.

What you'll need to succeed
You will bring strong inventory planning and stock control expertise, ideally gained within complex, high SKU, international supply chains. You will be highly analytical, commercially aware, and comfortable balancing service, cash, space, and supplier constraints.

You will need:
  • Strong inventory planning capability, including lead times, stock cover, and replenishment logic
  • Experience managing large SKI portfolios within complex supply chains
  • A strong understanding of freight, shipping, and inbound supply pipelines
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with ERP and stock management systems
  • A structured, disciplined approach to planning and problem solving
  • Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to develop and coach a high performing team
  • Strong cross-functional influencing skills and a high ownership mindset
  • The ability to prioritise and make decisions in fast moving operational environments

What you'll get in return
You will step into a highly visible and influential role where your decisions directly impact business performance. You will have genuine ownership of stock control outcomes, the opportunity to shape scalable processes and systems, and the backing of a business that values collaboration, accountability, and internal progression.

This role offers long term career development within a growing organisation, alongside flexibility to support individual and business needs.

A competitive and negotiable salary and benefits package is on offer with genuine opportunities for further growth and development.
