Hays is seeking a dedicated substance misuse Nurse to work in St Helens, Merseyside.

We are urgently looking for an experienced Locum Substance Misuse to join our client’s team in Merseyside. If you are interested, please read the details below:

Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week)
Dates: ASAP 3 months (Temporary Contract, will be reviewed after 3 months)
Pay Rate: £33/hr PAYE or £38 umbrella (strictly no limited companies)

Your new role

Undertake physical and mental health assessments and sign post/refer to primary care or appropriate secondary health care services for identified health issues.
To undertake Nurse Alcohol Assessments and determine safe detoxification.
Assist in the titration process for opiate service users.
To provide screening for BBV, through dry blood spot testing.
If trained – provide Hepatitis B vaccinations, undertake phlebotomy.
Contribute to Naloxone Strategy
Offer wound care assessment and basic wound dressing to service users.
Utilise psychosocial intervention, including Integrated Test and Evaluation Plans in both one-to-one and group settings.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
Current NMC registration
Previous solid experience of working as a substance misuse nurse
Strong communication and teamwork skills
