Subject Leader of Drama – September Start

Hays Education is proud to be working in partnership with a highly regarded and welcoming secondary school with a sixth form, seeking to appoint an inspiring Subject Leader of Drama on a permanent basis from September.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Drama teacher or aspiring middle leader looking to develop their career within a supportive and ambitious school community.


The Role
As Subject Leader of Drama, you will lead and develop a vibrant Drama provision across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and creative lessons, shaping the curriculum and promoting a strong culture of performance and artistic expression.
You will play a pivotal role in leading extracurricular activities, including school productions and performances, helping to bring Drama to life both inside and outside the classroom.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Has experience teaching Drama across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
  • Demonstrates leadership experience or clear leadership potential
  • Is passionate about drama and the performing arts
  • Has the ability to inspire creativity, confidence and performance skills in students
  • Is committed to delivering high-quality productions and enrichment opportunities
  • Shows strong classroom management and a supportive teaching style
