Are you an experienced Subcontracts Manager with a background in aerospace, defence, automotive or advanced manufacturing?
We're supporting a world-class engineering organisation that develops some of the most advanced technology and manufacturing solutions in the UK. Due to increased programme demand, they are looking to appoint a Subcontracts Manager to support a portfolio of highly complex engineering projects.
The Role
Working within a skilled procurement and engineering team, you'll take ownership of complex subcontract negotiations and supplier relationships, supporting the delivery of innovative, technically advanced products.
This is not a high-volume transactional procurement role. You'll be managing bespoke agreements involving technical data, intellectual property considerations and sophisticated commercial negotiations that can span many months.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex subcontract negotiations with strategic suppliers
- Manage commercial terms and conditions across engineering programmes
- Work closely with engineering and technical stakeholders
- Support supplier selection and subcontract strategy development
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Balance programme requirements with commercial objectives
- Support risk management and contractual compliance activities
About You
You'll bring experience from a technically complex manufacturing environment such as:
- Aerospace
- Defence
- Automotive NPI
- Advanced manufacturing
- Oil & Gas engineering
You will also have:
- Strong subcontract management experience
- Excellent commercial and negotiation skills
- Experience managing bespoke supplier agreements
- Confidence engaging with engineering and technical teams
- Strong stakeholder management capability
Mechanical engineering exposure would be highly advantageous.
