Admission Support Officer | Temporary | Higher Education
Your New Company
A prestigious Higher Education institution based in central London is seeking a Student Office Administrator to support its busy academic department. The organisation is well known for its strong student focus, structured professional services teams, and commitment to delivering an excellent experience across the student lifecycle.
Your New Role
As a Student Office Administrator, you will play a key role within the Student Office, providing high‑quality administrative support across admissions, student records, and examinations.
Given the time of year, the role will initially focus heavily on admissions and examinations activity, supporting application processing, applicant communication, interview days, enrolment, and assessment administration. You will act as a key point of contact for prospective and current students, working closely with academic staff, admissions tutors, registry, and wider professional services teams.
The role is on‑site during term time due to operational requirements, with some flexibility available outside of term time where appropriate.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous administrative experience within Higher Education or a similar customer‑focused environment
- Strong understanding of, or exposure to, admissions processes, student records, or examinations
- Experience managing busy inboxes, handling student enquiries, and processing applications or data accurately
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and confidence working with student systems and databases (e.g. Banner, Blackboard, Moodle or similar)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, detail‑focused approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
What You’ll Get in Return
- Competitive hourly rate aligned with Higher Education Grade 3a
- Opportunity to gain experience within a highly regarded academic department
- Exposure to the full student lifecycle, with a strong focus on admissions and assessment periods
- Supportive and collaborative working environment
Flexible working options are available outside of term time, where there is no operational requirement to be on campus.
