Opportunity for a strategic Engineering Lead

About the Role
We are working on behalf of a prestigious multi-site organisation in the education sector that is embarking on a major digital transformation programme. This is a rare opportunity to lead the technical delivery of a multi-year Microsoft 365 tenancy consolidation initiative, with strategic visibility and impact across the organisation.
The Strategic Engineering Lead will serve as the principal technical authority, responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of a secure, scalable, and high-performing M365 environment. This role also includes leadership of the internal IT Engineering Team and close collaboration with external partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical design and implementation of a centralised Microsoft 365 tenancy.
  • Oversee the migration programme, working with external consultants and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage and develop the IT Engineering Team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure robust security and compliance across all systems and services.
  • Drive process improvements aligned with ITIL standards and best practices.
Candidate Profile
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure, including single and multi-tenancy environments.
  • Strong background in infrastructure management, including virtualised networks and enterprise hardware.
  • Proven track record in delivering large-scale IT transformation projects.
  • Effective leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
