I’m recruiting for a public sector organisation that is looking for a Strategic Business Partner to act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, this is a pivotal position ensuring IT and digital services align with organisational objectives and deliver measurable business value. You’ll work at the intersection of technology and business change, driving adoption of agile, data-led approaches and ensuring outsourced IT services meet strategic goals.
This role about leadership, governance, and strategic alignment. You’ll champion digital transformation, oversee performance, and ensure IT investments deliver outcomes that matter.

What you’ll be doing
  • Acting as the primary liaison between business units and IT, ensuring technology supports organisational priorities
  • Leading business impact assessments and readiness planning for digital change
  • Driving adoption of agile, product-based ways of working
  • Overseeing governance and performance of outsourced IT services
  • Advocating for data-led decision-making and user-centric service design
  • Monitoring benefits realisation and ensuring measurable outcomes from IT investments
  • Supporting integration of key platforms including Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, ESRI ArcGIS, and cybersecurity tools
  • Building strong relationships with senior leadership and strategic partners

    What you’ll bring
  • Proven experience in business relationship management, digital transformation, or business change (public sector experience desirable)
  • Strong understanding of governance frameworks (GDAD, ITIL 4) and SFIA Level 5 capabilities
  • Ability to translate business needs into technology solutions
  • Experience in contract and supplier management
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and data-driven decision-making
  • Change management or project management certification (e.g., PROSCI, PRINCE2, Agile) is an advantage
