You will be joining the Department for Communities, specifically within the Financial Management, Corporate Services Group – Finance Business Partner Team, based at Causeway Exchange, 1–7 Bedford Street, Belfast, BT2 7EG. This team plays a key role in supporting financial governance and strategic budgetary planning across the Corporate Services Group.
Your new role
As a Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the Corporate Services Group (CSG) budget, including allocations, profiling, and system uploads.
- Monitoring and analysing monthly financial performance, investigating and reporting on variances.
- Preparing key financial reports such as Departmental and Group Management Board Reports and Forecast Outturns.
- Supporting budget planning and review exercises.
- Maintaining staff baselines and preparing monthly workforce planning returns.
- Providing financial advice to CSG cost centres.
- Assisting with capital forecasting and the Rolling 5-Year Capital Forecast.
- Undertaking ad hoc duties as required by management.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Be a professionally qualified accountant.
- Have at least one year’s experience gained in the last five years in a finance-related environment, in one or more of the following areas:
- Financial planning and budgeting
- Financial accounting/auditing
- Forensic accounting/insolvency-related work
- Management accounting and cost analysis
- Investment finance
- Treasury management
- Development/implementation of financial systems
