Job Title: Sports and Wellbeing Mentor
Location: BD5, Bradford
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Fixed Term (with potential for extension)
Hours: 36¼ hours per week
Salary: Band 8, SCP 17–22 (pro rata, term-time only)

About the Role
You will:
- Teach PE across all year groups, including SEN provision.
- Plan and deliver inclusive, engaging lessons that promote physical development and teamwork.
- Lead after-school sports clubs and coordinate pupil participation in local competitions.
- Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring to support emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and self-esteem.
- Promote positive friendships, resilience, and the school’s community values.
- Work closely with the SENDCo and safeguarding team.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children in a school, sports, or youth setting.
- Passion for PE, sport, and children’s wellbeing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build nurturing relationships and act as a positive role model.
- Understanding of physical, emotional, and mental health needs in children.
- Willingness to undertake safeguarding training and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Sports coaching or PE-related qualifications.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND or SEMH needs.
- First aid qualification.
- GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Fluency in spoken English to an Intermediate Threshold Level (as per the Immigration Act 2016).
