Speech & Language Therapy Teaching Assistant in Tower Hamlets, East London. Salary: £25, 584 - £26,835 annum.
Location: Tower Hamlets
Contract Type: Permanent | Term-Time Only
Working Pattern: Full-Time | 35 hours/week (8:45am–3:30pm, with one evening to 5pm and one to 4pm)
Salary: NJC Scale 4 Points 7–10 (£26,773 – £27,947 Actual Salary)
Start Date: November 2025
About the Role
This Primary School is looking for a passionate and proactive Speech & Language Therapy Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding school in Tower Hamlets. Supporting pupils aged 3–19, you will work as part of a skilled class team to implement speech and language programmes and contribute to pupils’ communication development. This is a full-time, term-time permanent role ideal for those with a background in SEN or an interest in therapeutic education.
Key Responsibilities
•Plan and run small-group and 1:1 communication activities under SLT and teacher guidance
•Develop visual resources and communication aids for classroom and therapy sessions
•Prepare transition packs with timetables, motivators, and pupil-specific tools
•Maintain clear pupil records and monitor progress of interventions
•Model best practice for colleagues and support team development
•Assist with training delivery and wider classroom support responsibilities
What We’re Looking For
•Experience or strong interest in Speech & Language Therapy or SEN education
•Ability to prepare structured resources to support communication development
•Confident working under guidance from SaLT and senior teaching staff
•Excellent organisation, communication and collaboration skills
•Commitment to pupil wellbeing and educational inclusion
