Your new role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solution Delivery Architect to join a forward-thinking organisation within their Infrastructure and wider Technology team. Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, this role plays a pivotal part in shaping and delivering secure, scalable, and innovative infrastructure and cloud solutions.
As a trusted advisor, you’ll provide strategic and technical leadership across multiple programmes, ensuring alignment with business goals, technology strategy, and industry best practices.

  • Solution Architecture: Design and communicate infrastructure/cloud architectures that deliver business outcomes and align with enterprise standards.
  • Cloud Platforms: Lead the adoption of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions with a focus on security, resilience, and cost-efficiency.
  • Integration & Delivery: Drive systems integration and build activities, championing automation, DevOps, and continuous delivery.
  • Technical Assurance: Ensure solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements including performance, availability, and security.
  • Change & Transformation: Define migration paths and oversee infrastructure change programmes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate across business units and external partners to ensure solutions meet stakeholder needs.
  • Risk & Security: Embed security-by-design and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Innovation & Improvement: Identify opportunities to adopt emerging technologies and drive continuous improvement.
  • Leadership: Mentor technical teams and contribute to policy and strategy development.
What you'll need to succeed
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering enterprise-scale infrastructure and cloud solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud models.
  • Expertise in infrastructure configuration, networking, middleware, virtualisation, and automation.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise and operational architecture.
  • Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Strong grasp of information security, compliance, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Desirable certifications:
    • TOGAF or equivalent architecture framework
    • Cloud certifications (Azure/AWS Solutions Architect)
    • ITIL, DevOps, or other service management frameworks
