Position: Soft Services Manager
Location: Bishop Auckland, GSK - Barnard Castle

We have a brand-new opportunity for an established and organised Soft Services Manager to join their team in Bishop Auckland, Durham!

Job Overview
  • Build a strong working relationship with both internal and external customers, including subcontractors, to ensure that all services are delivered in a professional, timely manner.
  • Lead by example: health and safety, environmental and quality requirements, ensuring compliance with statutory, legislative and contractual requirements and ensuring that all work activities are conducted in a safe manner.
  • Manage and lead the Soft Services Campus teams,
  • Manage and lead the subcontractors for Soft Services,
  • Drive the development of a professional and effective operational team,
  • Develop a succession plan for all key roles within the team
  • Analyse operational performance and develop services to meet the client's needs and the contract, controlling and minimising operational, financial and commercial risk.
  • Monitor and control supplier, subcontractor and labour costs to ensure the financial targets for the site are achieved.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to compile site-specific processes and procedures which are regularly reviewed to ensure they remain current, including but not limited to, escalation procedures, Business Continuity Plans, and Quality Management Systems.
  • Arrange, attend, chair and actively participate in internal and external meetings and/or training courses as required.
  • Perform ad hoc duties in line with capabilities to support corporate and client objectives


What we are looking for
  • Desired: Health and Safety certificate (IOSH Managing Safely or similar)
  • Proven success in an operational manufacturing environment
  • The candidate must possess exceptional customer service and communication skills and be highly literate.
  • People management, including but not limited to recruitment and selection, disciplinaries, grievances, appraisals and performance management
  • Experience managing multidisciplined teams
  • Computer-literate and experienced in using Microsoft applications
  • The candidate must be organised, good at time management and prioritisation of work and be reliable, punctual and responsible.
