Social Workers – Children Assessment Teams (Solihull Integrated Front Door)

Your new company

Solihull Council is currently seeking experienced and passionate Social Workers to join our Children’s Assessment Teams within the Integrated Front Door Service. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a well-established, supportive, and forward-thinking local authority.

Your new role

As a Social Worker in our Children’s Assessment Teams within the Integrated Front Door Service, you will undertake assessments under Section 17 and Section 47 of the Children Act.
Complete Child Impact Reports (similar to Section 7 reports)
Deliver high-quality, timely interventions to improve outcomes for children and families
Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including police, health, and education
Maintain accurate records and produce detailed reports for statutory reviews and court proceedings
Teams operate on a duty rota, with each team on duty one week in every four. During duty weeks, staff are expected to be office-based, and two days per week when not on duty.

Requirements

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience in statutory children’s services
  • Experience in duty and assessment work
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and child development
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment
  • Must be a driver with access to a car due to the semi-rural nature of the borough

  • Have a recognised professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/B.Sc. in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or CQSW)
  • Social Work England registration
  • 2 year post-qualifying permanent experience.
  • Previous experience working within Social Work adults services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to travel as required.
