Social Worker – Children We Care For (CWCF) | Oxfordshire County Council | £33.71 PAYE / £42.00 UMB

Your new company

Oxfordshire County Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Children We Care For (CWCF) service.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people in care, ensuring they receive high-quality, stable care and achieve positive long-term outcomes. You will work with children subject to Section 20 and Section 31, supporting a variety of permanence plans including fostering, adoption, kinship, and transitions to independence.


Your new role

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of looked after children and care leavers
  • Undertake care planning, assessments, and statutory visits
  • Develop and review Care Plans and Pathway Plans
  • Support children in achieving permanency outcomes (adoption, fostering, reunification)
  • Promote the voice of the child in all planning and decision-making
  • Work closely with carers, families, and partner agencies
  • Monitor and support health, education, and wellbeing outcomes
  • Prepare reports for reviews, meetings, and court proceedings where required
Ensure all work complies with the Children Act 1989, 2004 and statutory guidance


Working Arrangements
  • Agile / Hybrid working model
  • Based across North (Banbury), Central (Kidlington), or South (Abingdon)
  • Regular travel is required across the county to attend visits and meetings.
  • Flexibility required to meet service demands

What you'll need to succeed

Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Experience working within Children’s Social Care / Looked After Children teams
  • Strong knowledge of care planning, safeguarding, and permanency planning
  • Ability to complete high-quality assessments and reports
  • Effective communication and multi-agency working skills
  • Strong risk assessment and decision-making abilities
