Oxfordshire County Council are seeking a committed and skilled Social Worker to join the Adult Community Team in Oxfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact within the community—supporting adults to live independently, safely, and with the right networks around them.
Your new role
Working within Adult Social Care, you’ll use a strength‑based approach to carry out assessments, coordinate support, and collaborate closely with health partners, families, carers, and community organisations. You’ll play a vital role in promoting wellbeing, resilience, and positive outcomes for the people you work with.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the Community Team, you will:
- Complete strength‑based assessments, reviews, and interventions.
- Support individuals under the Care Act 2014, MCA 2005, and relevant legislation.
- Develop clear, outcome‑focused support plans tailored to individual needs.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and families to achieve the best outcomes.
- Provide advice on Assistive Technology, equipment, reablement services, and housing adaptations.
- Manage a varied caseload, including duty responsibilities and community visits.
What you'll need to succeed
Essential:
- Recognised Social Work qualification & Social Work England registration
- Strong knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation and safeguarding
- Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication, assessment, and report‑writing skills
- Commitment to professional development and reflective practice
Desirable:
- Experience with housing adaptations, equipment, or moving/handling
- Community social care experience
- Post‑qualifying training (BIA, AMHP, Practice Educator) or willingness to work towards it
