Your new role

As a qualified Social worker for Oxfordshire County Council, you’ll be part of a dynamic and supportive team working within Adult Social Care, delivering strength-based support to individuals, families, and carers across Oxfordshire.
You’ll work collaboratively with health, housing, and other partner agencies to promote independence, safeguard vulnerable adults, and contribute to building resilient communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work within the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Mental Health Act 1983, and other relevant legislation.
  • Undertake timely and proportionate assessments, reviews, and interventions.
  • Develop support plans that reflect individual needs and outcomes.
  • Promote independence through reablement services, assistive technology, and equipment.
  • Participate in duty rota, including telephone and emergency advice.
  • Carry out safeguarding enquiries and report concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate, defensible records and prepare court or tribunal reports as required.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience in adult social care, including safeguarding and duty work.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation and court processes.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Confidence in prioritising workload and progressing casework proactively.
  • Commitment to strength-based practice and collaborative working.
