Social Worker job – (Adult) Community Team at Oxforshire County Council, paying up to £38 ph

Oxfordshire County Council are seeking a committed and skilled Social Worker to join the Adult Community Team in Oxfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact within the community—supporting adults to live independently, safely, and with the right networks around them.

Your new role

Working within Adult Social Care, you’ll use a strength‑based approach to carry out assessments, coordinate support, and collaborate closely with health partners, families, carers, and community organisations. You’ll play a vital role in promoting wellbeing, resilience, and positive outcomes for the people you work with.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the Community Team, you will:
  • Complete strength‑based assessments, reviews, and interventions.
  • Support individuals under the Care Act 2014, MCA 2005, and relevant legislation.
  • Develop clear, outcome‑focused support plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and families to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Provide advice on Assistive Technology, equipment, reablement services, and housing adaptations.
  • Manage a varied caseload, including duty responsibilities and community visits.
Maintain accurate, defensible case records and contribute to service development.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential:
  • Recognised Social Work qualification & Social Work England registration
  • Strong knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation and safeguarding
  • Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and report‑writing skills
  • Commitment to professional development and reflective practice
Desirable:
  • Experience with housing adaptations, equipment, or moving/handling
  • Community social care experience
  • Post‑qualifying training (BIA, AMHP, Practice Educator) or willingness to work towards it
