Site Manager for renowned fitout company!

Your new role

As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for and required to:

Commercial
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the building contract type and key stakeholders, including the client, their representatives, and the design team.
  • Be fully aware of the scope of works for each sub-contractor package and maintain physical copies of sub-contract orders.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager (PM) and Project Quantity Surveyor (PQS) on tasks outside the project’s scope.
Operational
  • Issue and close out permits for various activities; handle orders for materials and equipment, and coordinate with the project quantity surveyor.
  • Oversee provisions, diversions, upgrades, and protection works through meetings with utility companies.
  • Apply for necessary permits from the Highways Authority for road openings, skips, and welfare facilities.
  • Request temporary water, drainage, and electricity connections from utility companies.
  • Manage off-site Highways works through discussions with relevant parties.
Quality
  • Identify and report poor-quality work.
  • Ensure sub-contractors prepare and complete inspection and test plans (ITPs).
  • Create and manage snagging lists.
Health & Safety
  • Understand and comply with Health and Safety/CDM legislation and responsibilities.
  • Serve as the temporary works coordinator, if applicable.
  • Ensure labour-only sub-contractors are properly assessed, with method statements and risk assessments in place.

What you'll need to succeed

As well as an SMSTS, First Aid, Fire Marshall and CSCS card (preferably black) you will need:

  • Previous construction experience in sectors such as commercial, retail, healthcare, education, refurbishment, or new builds.
  • Demonstrated capability to oversee and manage subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project schedules, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Familiarity with temporary works procedures.
  • Competence in working effectively within a team setting.
  • Skill in developing short-term programmes.
  • Focus on quality, leadership abilities, and proficiency in IT.
