Location: Near Barnet, North London
Rate: £330–£340 per day (Ltd Company or Umbrella No CIS)
Contract Length: 15 weeks
Start Date: February

The Opportunity
A reputable contractor based in Berkshire, known for delivering high‑quality Housing, Commercial and Retail schemes, is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to lead a £2m+ refurbishment of a commercial building being converted into modern apartments.

The project is already in procurement and due to begin in February, running for approximately 15 weeks. This is a great opportunity for a capable, organised Site Manager who thrives on fast‑paced refurbishments and tight programmes.

Responsibilities
  • Day‑to‑day site management and coordination of subcontractors
  • Ensuring works are delivered to programme, budget, and quality standards
  • Overseeing H&S compliance on site
  • Liaising with the client, project team and building control
  • Managing site documentation, RAMS and daily reports
  • Ensuring smooth progress through key milestones and handover
Requirements
  • SMSTS & First Aid (essential)
  • Strong experience managing refurbishment or conversion projects
  • Ability to run site independently and drive progress
  • Background in residential, commercial, or mixed‑use projects preferred
  • Must operate via Ltd Company or Umbrella
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
