Site Manager - Groundworks Project
Location: Lancaster
Duration: 6+ months
Hours: 44 hours per week (with potential for overtime)
Your new company
You will be working for a well-established and reputable groundworks contractor with a strong presence across the North West. The business has an excellent track record of delivering complex infrastructure and civil engineering schemes. Due to ongoing growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to support on a major new-build project in Lancaster.
Your new role
As Site Manager, you will oversee day-to-day operations on a large-scale new-build project within a secure environment, taking responsibility for delivering key groundworks and deep drainage packages safely and efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing all site activities relating to groundworks and deep drainage. Supervising site teams, subcontractors, and plant operations.
Ensuring strict compliance with health & safety procedures, particularly in a secure setting
Driving programme delivery and meeting key milestones
Conducting toolbox talks, inductions, and site meetings
Monitoring quality of works in line with project specifications
Reporting progress and liaising with senior stakeholders
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience as a Site Manager within groundworks and deep drainage (essential)
Experience using an iPad or similar for logging of jobs on site (essential)
Strong background delivering drainage schemes, foundations, and associated civils packages
Experience working on large-scale or secure projects (desirable)
SMSTS or SSSTS certification (essential)
Good working knowledge of health & safety regulations
Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
