Your new role

As Site and Compliance Manager, you will take ownership of the daily management, maintenance, and security of our school premises. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing planned and reactive maintenance across buildings and grounds.
  • Managing utilities and ensuring energy efficiency.
  • Supervising contractors and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Conducting statutory checks and inspections, including fire safety and emergency lighting.
  • Leading risk assessments and implementing robust compliance policies.
  • Acting as key holder and maintaining site security procedures.
  • Managing a small site team and monitoring budgets for premises and cleaning.
This role is pivotal in ensuring our school remains safe, compliant, and welcoming for all. This is a Monday to Friday, on site post, but with flexibility on working hours between 7am and 6.30pm.

What you'll need to succeed

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in site management or a similar role, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in IT systems for compliance tracking.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and flexibility to work outside normal hours when required.
  • Essential qualifications: GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, relevant trade certifications, and a clean driving licence.
  • Desirable: Health and safety qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH, COSHH).
An enhanced DBS check upon successful offer is mandatory. No Visa sponsorship will be offered for this role and so applicants must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application. Those not possessing the right to work in the UK need not apply.
